EMDR consultations. If you are looking for an EMDR consultation, supervision or training, please go to the health-psychology site by clicking on health-psychology on the navigation bar on the left. www.health-psychology.co.uk is Philip Dutton's main therapy and coaching practice site. The EMDRS site provides general information about EMDR. EMDR was first developed in the late 1980s by Francine Shapiro and it has continued to evolve with the assistance of the thousands of clinicians trained worldwide. EMDR is a therapeutic method that, like most therapies, depends on skilled and experienced therapists to obtain the best results. To encourage high standards, there are several organisations internationally, involved in training, setting and monitoring of standards. Please go to www.health-psychology.co.uk to view a clip of my "Scotland Today Television Interview" regarding Beslan. (Select Scottish TV on the front page.) Philip Dutton is working with colleagues in the US and who work for EMDR HAP to develop guidelines for therapists who find themselves in an isolated position when volunteering time to work with the many thousands of newly homeless and bereaved individuals following the destruction of the hurricane KATRINA. Intensive work will be needed for many thousands of people, over months and years. There are still many requiring assistance since 9/11 and this disaster has a greater number of directly affected people who are homeless. EMDRS.org aims to assist both the therapist and those looking for information about treatment.
